how to do this braided designhere and rope looking design over here. So today we are going to go over withthis techniques.

 Are you ready?

Let's get started! There are three parts in thisring. First is the ring itself. The second one is the rope looking design overthere. The third one is the braided design over here. So we are going to talkabout those three parts separately. Let's starting with the ring. We're going touse these circles. Set it up the radius for 8, diameter for 16, and thenwe're ring gonna come into the right view. We want to draw a profile here. I alwayslike the cushion looking thing so let's used the conic corner, and ring then you cando any size of the ring that you like it's gonna be really wide over here, andwe're gonna moving in a little bit, so it gives a little bit more like a comfortfit. Let's move the center back to the center over here. The second we needto decide how deep it's going to cut into. Let's draw a rectangle here withthe center and this is going to show like how deep rings designs we are going to cut into.And again there's no specific dimension, it is just aboutyour design. We are going to use the trim tool to trim off anything inbetween make sure you give a little bit fillet here, so the ring rendering willlook very nice. On the bottom, you don't have to worry about it. Okay sothis is the curve that we have.

Let's joined it, and let's make a ring byusing the Sweep 1 Rail, and this is the rail, this is the cross section, then we get aring like this. let's take a look on the perspective. Now we have this on theperspective, and we only need to use the one two flow is the surface right therein the center. So let me extract the surface,  and we're gonna extractthe one over here. Let me turn it into the red color, so we have somethinghere to create a UV curve. The command we're gonna use create UV curve, and thenwe pick up this red one, and this is area we are going to design. So let'stake a look on the top view. this is an area we're going to design, and we needto separate them into three section, so I kind of need to know how big they arefirst. So let's say, we have 5.94 mm I'm going to have the area in the center for 3.5 mm x 3.5 mm and this is the rings designs area for thebraided design. So I'm going to align this with the horizontal Center, and therest of this space is for the rope looking design. so let's come over here.Let's do the Rope first. To make our Rope look really nice, we need toknow the dimension over here. This one is 1.22. so I like to create arectangle here. This is 1.22 x 1.22 so we are going to work within here. Let's go ahead to draw a diagonal line right here.So half of a rope should fit it into right here.

We are going to draw areference here roughly about 0.4 mm, And I want to snapping intothis edge here, and doing the same 0.4 mm, and snapping right here.what I would do here is because we need to have a two symmetrical side, so let'sgo ahead to use that as our first point. and you kind of want to draw a curve ofyour own design, but you will need to snapping in those two rings designs ends, and you canedit those to fit your design better. but pretty much this is the first curve.We will have this one. Using the rotate tool, snapping into thismidpoint, and we want to rotate it 180 degrees. then there was snapping intoright point the should snapping into the right point.Let's double check. Oh, it's not there, just need to make sure they move it backto the end point, so you won't have the problem. When you try to create thesurface. This rings designs one does meet. then we will need to create the CrossSection. I'm going to have the oval or ellipse tool, and I want to do somethinglike this, and coming over to the right view, and we don't need super high. Weprobably need it just less than 0.5 mm So roughly like that. so halfof this oval is less than 0.5 millimeter for the thickness. Let's usecommand call Sweep 2 Rail. This is rail 1, rail 2, make sure youwant to starting with the point, and then going to the cross-section, and end upwith the point one more time. You will get a solid.

Let's double makesure this is a closed surface. Now we have one element right here. Let's do atest, and see how it goes. Let's make a duplication of this one. We are going touse the Linear Array, and I don't know how many of them that I need. I'm justgonna guess 100, and we're gonna go from here to anywhere, but make sure youstay with the line, so they will be aligned perfectly. Okay, you can get ittighter, you can get a looser, it is up to your design. Okay so I'm gonna getsomething similar like this, and take a look if this is rings designs enough for you, and thismore than enough. So I'm just gonna delete some of them right there. We aregoing to flow this back to the surface. If you have an empty spaceright here, then you probably won't flow correctly, so what I like rings designs to do, first isI actually want to boolean all the forms. Let's use the boolean union. Okay soonce they are boolean, I'm going to move with this is my guideline, and move it tothe edge right there. So you're gonna notice like everything will movinga little bit. If this one is right at the edge right here thenonce you flow it back it will be perfectly meet. So we're gonna do alittle bit change here. We're gonna use the trim command. Let's using this bigframe, and trim off the one over here.

So now on the other side, we need to makesure it's perfectly aligned over there. So what we're gonna do is we're going touse the straight line, and snapping it to the end point right here. Draw a straightline down and using this line to trim ring over here. Okay, so now with that littleextra. This is my little trick over here. Let's go ahead to use the Scale 1D.We're gonna snapping into this point right here, and then the first referencepoint let's snap into the end point righthere. Okay holding your ring SHIFT and bring it back to this edge, so when they flow itback there, it will be hundred-percent contact. So now we have this side, wejust need to mirror to the other side. So using the middle as a center, and then wehave that done.
